Born in Munich Germany, raised in Fayetteville, NC, entered the USCG in NJ, was a rescue surf boat crewmember in MA until graduated from Aviation Electronics School as Aviation Electronics Technician. Qualified as Avionicsman Radio Navigator Instructor on HH-3F helicopters, Flight Mechanic Crew Chief Instructor on HH-60J helicopters, HU-25A/B Falcon jets, and Radio Operator on HC-130 Hercules aircraft. Deployed to the Caribbean with USCG and DEA antinarcotics operations, and member of USCG pistol/high-power rifle team. Retired in 2004.
Previous USCG assignments include USCG Station Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard MA, Aviation Technical Training Center Elizabeth City, NC, USCG Air Station Cape Cod, Otis AFB, MA, USCG Air Station Elizabeth City, NC, USCG Air Station Clearwater, FL. Staff assignments include Avionics Shop Supervisor/Instructor, antinarcotics deployment team site supervisor, flight crew instructor, Chief of flight standardization board and flight safety board, maintenance shift supervisor, Airman Aviation School Chief, ready aircrew duty watch supervisor, Flight Program and Operations Manager, radar and sensor systems laboratory and technician supervisor, and lead supervisor of avionics maintenance and aircrew instruction for USA and foreign military. He holds FAA and FCC licenses. Liaison with FAA, CENTCOM, SOCOM, DoD, Raytheon, Hawker-Beechcraft, Southern Air Systems, Sandia Labs, Navy Naval Research Laboratories, Naval Air Systems Command, and multiple engineering firms. He is currently on boards for Remember Honor Support, VA Veterans Engagement Council, and Center of Innovation on Disability & Rehab Research. He attended North Carolina State University and is a graduate of University of Phoenix, with BS in Business Management. He holds an MBA and a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. Competes in triathlons/biathlons, is an Area Coordinator raising guide dog puppies, and camp counselor for Faces of Courage Kids Cancer and Blood Disorders camp. |
